Menu’s Hashira cluster pendant is a modern, stripped interpretation of a traditional Japanese rice paper lantern by design duo Norm Architects, Kasper Rønn and Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen. The minimalist shades made from a linen fabric create an intriguing contradiction: while they give the luminaire its sculptural, column-like form together with the visible structure, they also diffuse the light into an extraordinarily soft and ambient glow. The elegant, understated form of the Hashira cluster pendant fits just as perfectly in the bedroom or dining room as it does in public spaces.
